Melanie Gisler

Melanie Gisler, DO Dr. Gisler is an Osteopathic Family Physician. She holds a Doctorate of Osteopathy from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (one of the oldest, most established osteopathic medical schools in the country). And she trained in family medicine at University of California LA, where she completed her residency.
Dr. Gisler works with individuals and families, utilizing both traditional Western medicine and, increasingly, – integrative anthroposophic medicine, broadening her approach to the treatment of chronic illnesses. Dr. Gisler is a member of the Academy of Comprehensive Integrative Medicine, American Osteopathic Association, American Physicians Association of Anthroposophic Medicine, American Academy of Environmental Medicine, the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society and the American Academy of Ozonotherapy.

Dr. Gisler’s osteopathic career has remained rooted in the principle that each person is his or her own entity, consisting of body, mind, spirit and soul; and that the body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and health maintenance. Accordingly any compromise in health should be considered per a synthesis of linked physical, mental, and spiritual factors. To achieve optimal health, a patient’s condition must be addressed through a personalized plan that tailors the benefits of, in some cases, multiple medical methodologies, to his or her unique set of needs. For some this may amount to a single, stand-alone form of treatment. For others, such a plan may incorporate aspects of lifestyle, mind body, nutrition, herbs, supplements, bio-identical hormones, and anthroposophic medicines, and of course when needed prescription and traditional allopathic medicine. While Western medications have their place in the healing sciences and may be most applicable for certain conditions under certain circumstances, they are not without limits, nor should they be considered the necessary go-to option for all health concerns.
